Connecting Communities in Chinese
Bridging Cultures, Building Community.
Bridging Cultures, Building Community.
We are a 40+ (and growing!) student-powered volunteer organization comprised of both fluent and non-fluent Chinese speakers, dedicated to supporting and celebrating the Chinese community. Our volunteers work with the New York Chinese School as teaching assistants, help plan cultural and educational events, and support outreach and marketing programs. Through these activities, we provide hands-on support for students, contribute to vibrant community events, and help promote Chinese language and culture in New York.
Connecting Communities in Chinese is dedicated to fostering cross-cultural understanding and meaningful relationships through community-based education, community partnerships, and cultural exchange. From initiatives in Chinatown NYC to programs in China, we strive to create opportunities that bring people together, and deepen intercultural connections, creating lasting community impact.
Our Partners:
Established in 1909 and located in the heart of Chinatown, New York Chinese School (NYCS) is one of the largest Chinese schools in North America. As a non-profit, community-based institution, NYCS serves over 3,000 students through afterschool, weekend, and adult Mandarin programs, along with classes in culture, arts, and performance.
Founded in 2001, the PEACH Foundation (Promoting Education, Art, and Community Harvest) is a California-based non-profit dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for underprivileged children in rural China and Southeast Asia. By providing scholarships and support for middle school through college, PEACH helps break the cycle of poverty and empowers students to reach their full potential.
